I paid a visit to Grand Central Terminal, since it recently celebrated its centennial. While I was in the neighborhood, I also swung by the New York Public Library. Sometimes (all right, most of the time), as a New Yorker, I have to stop and remember these beautiful buildings are within reach!

So…there’s a hurricane howling outside right now. Hurricane Sandy, of course.

1) was treated to an awesome dinner with a close friend and her family, who were in town for a benefit concert
2) got invited along to the concert they were going to because they had a spare ticket

Before going to watch Mamma Mia! on Broadway last night, I had only a few requirements:

• A no-holds barred performance of "Dancing Queen"
• Spandex...lots of spandex. With plenty of glitter too.

Was I satisfied on such counts? HECK YES!

Well, that’s the beautiful end to summer, my friends. Tomorrow my family is heading out to Newport, Rhode Island, and then Cape Cod, Mass. for a brief road trip.
